Grace was appointed O’Malley Clan Chieftain in June 2024, at a ceremony held at the Strand Hotel in Limerick led by Clan Guardian Chieftain Ellen (Grace’s aunt!) and outgoing Chieftain Nano, in the presence of many past Chieftains and Clan members.
Grace has been an active member of the O’Malley Clan Association for many years since attending her first gathering in 2006 and acts as Secretary on the steering committee since 2022. Grace is from Rathdowney in Co. Laois, a daughter of Elaine and John O’Malley of the Corner House, a pub that has been in their family for four generations since her great-grandfather John Anthony O’Malley from Clare Island bought it 1911. Grace has five brothers, Daniel, Anthony, Peter, Tom and John P. Grace works as a special needs teacher in Dublin and lives with her partner Enda and two children Austin and Alice. Grace invites all O’Malleys, their family and friends, to join her in celebrating and experiencing the traditions of The Clan Association in Westport in 2025, (27th to 29th June 2025). |
